Beliefs

The body of Christ at Trinity Church Central London joyfully stand alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the ages in affirming the following historical creeds of the universal church:

The Apostles Creed
The Nicene Creed

In addition, the body of Christ at Trinity Church Central London affirms the following Doctrinal Statement:

All men and women, being created in the image of God, have inherent and equal dignity and worth. Their greatest purpose is to obey, worship and love God. God created us male and female, which is identified by our biological sex. Marriage is the exclusive union of one man and one woman and is a picture of the relationship between Christ and his bride the church. Sexual intimacy is a gift from God to be enjoyed only within the context of marriage.

The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life in obedience to the Father. He taught with authority and all his words are true. On the cross he died in the place of sinners, bearing God’s punishment for their sin, redeeming them by his blood. He rose from the dead and in his resurrection body ascended into heaven where he is exalted as Lord of all. He intercedes for his people in the presence of the Father.

The universal Church is the body of which Christ is the head and to which all who are saved belong. It is made visible in local churches, which are congregations of believers who are committed to each other for the worship of God, the preaching of the Word, the administering of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; for pastoral care and discipline, and for evangelism. The unity of the body of Christ is expressed within and between churches by mutual love, care and encouragement. True fellowship between churches exists only where they are faithful to the gospel.

Life Together

Our Church Covenant is a promise we make to one another to help each other fulfil the calling of our church family.

Having heard the gospel and having responded with faith and repentance and joyfully entered into Christ’s church, we now enter into this covenant with one another to live out these truths personally, as a family, and as a family on a mission:

We commit together to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength:

- To daily rejoice in our salvation and remember who we are in Christ
- To joyfully gather together regularly to worship the Lord Jesus Christ
- To continually respond to the gospel with repentance and faith
- To prayerfully fill our minds with His Word
- To see by faith the supremacy of Jesus in all things to the glory of God

We commit together to live as the family of God, marked by love for one another:

- To cultivate love for one another and to pray for each other
- To hospitably share our lives together as a church family
- To build one another up with God's Word and the Gospel
- To use our gifts for the good of others
- To diligently maintain our unity of faith in the Spirit
- To give our time, treasure and talents to building up the church
